Today is Halloween, so what better topic to write about than ways to freak out your co-workers.  Anyone can put a mask on and stick their head over the cubicle wall to catch someone by surprise, but what are those really ‘weird’ things that will set you apart and forever scare your co-workers?  Hiding under the desk to grab the leg of your co-worker and being sued for sexual harassment may be a bad idea, but I think these next few options might get you a few looks, and maybe even a few screams.

You know what we don’t do enough of?  Go crazy.  If you’ve ever seen people playing Bingo, you’ve seen insanity.  Thirty Bingo cards, ten Bingo daubers, and enough screaming and near heart attacks to make you worried for your own life.  I say, bring it to the office.  Maybe slap your neighbor with the notepad too, or a dauber.

Drop a fake body past the meeting room window from the floor above

Although it's not a real body, this can only end with screams and worried faces, depending on how realistic the dummy looked you may even get an afternoon off work.  Also, if you put a video camera in the meeting room, you could even submit the video and try winning big money.

Sacrifice a hamster in front of everyone to 'make the meeting go well' 

Nothing says “good meeting” like hamster blood on the desk.  You can be sure that the only good looking person in the room will never want to date you – but knowing that you sacrifice animals at will – they’ll date you anyway out of terror.

Chew on your arm for a while, and then start staring at your neighbors arm

Fake blood would be key in this situation.  Picture yourself in a boring meeting.  Now picture your co-workers’ face when you’ve finished gnawing on your own arm for 15 minutes and have fake blood oozing from your mouth and sleeve.  It’s enough to get promoted for.

Bring a chainsaw to your desk, but don't use it.  If anyone asks why you have it, say 'Just in case...just in case...'

Maybe a little extreme, but I think that negotiating your timelines might be a little easier when you can glance over at your trusty chainsaw every now and then.

Obviously there are more ways to freak out your co-workers - you can always mix and match the ones above as well.  Maybe bring your chainsaw to the office, sacrifice a hamster with it, and chew on your own arm for a while.  If that isn't a triple threat I don't know what is.
